Nicole Babich-Morin
Nicole began her riding career at a young age riding hunter ponies at her family farm. After the purchase of her pony Tristan she became hooked on dressage. They competed in the FEI pony division for two years at events including Dressage 4 Kids, CADI and Dressage at Devon. With a new partner, Foxfire, she moved up to the FEI JR level. They qualified twice to represent Canada at the North American Youth Championships (NAYC) bringing home team gold in 2012. Nicole then moved up to the Young Rider level, first learning the ropes with Foxfire. In her last season she qualified two horses for the team, Rumble and Deniros Tyme. Following this, Nicole and Deniro competed for several seasons in the U25 Grand Prix and eventually the Open grand prix. With Deniro, Nicole was able to earn her USDF and Equestrian Canada gold medals. Nicole’s competition partner for the past few years has been Fiderflash, who she has owned since he was 10 months old. After finishing her MSc., Nicole and Fiderflash went for a winter of training in Florida where Nicole was a working student. They returned once more in 2023 to campaign for the Pan American games. They are now working towards the Grand Prix. Besides riding, Nicole has become a certified competition coach and recognized dressage judge. Outside of horses, she is a professor at a CEGEP (Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel)
