Kiara Williams-Brown

Kiara has competed through the FEI Youth divisions up to the U25 Grand Prix, debuting in the U25 Grand Prix at just 16 years old. She has represented Canada at the North American Youth Championships (NAYC) six times, contributing to her team's achievements with a bronze medal in 2019 and a silver medal in 2022. In 2024, Kiara and her horse Fortissimo helped their team secure a team silver medal at the NAYC, with Kiara also earning individual silver and placing 4th in the Young Rider Freestyle.

In recognition of her hard work and dedication, Kiara was named the 2024 Canadian Dressage Youth Athlete of the Year. This honor highlights her strong season, including her success at the NAYC. Kiara and Fortissimo also had a memorable performance at the CDI Bromont in September 2024, winning both the individual and team tests.

Currently, Kiara and Fortissimo are ranked 20th in the world and 1st in Canada for the FEI Young Rider division in the most recent world rankings, reflecting their ongoing progress.

Kiara trains with her mom, Canadian international dressage rider Simone Williams, and Brazilian international dressage rider Oswaldo Lazurri Neto. She has a deep passion for working with young horses and is grateful for the opportunity to develop several through the levels in dressage. While dressage is her main focus, Kiara also enjoys jumping and has competed successfully up to the 1m10 level and in the CET equitation ring. During the 2024 winter season, Kiara had the chance to compete at the Global Dressage Festival and the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida. Alongside her riding, Kiara is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics with a focus on Kinesiology at the University of Ottawa.

Outside of horses, Kiara plays many different sports such as volleyball, skiing and soccer. She also likes to go running with her parents, her dog, and her miniature pony.
